We traveled along a path to find out “How is the theme fear revealed in the poems?” I stopped at lots of stops hosting poets from every colour. My aim was to seek the meaning of fear they created and how did they create this in their poems.
Fear is a part belongs to the soul. It is so special that everyone feels and experiences it differently. Because it is such a unique feeling, in every poem's meaning of fear is shaped according to the poet. I realized that while some of the poems were talking about external fear, some of them were talking about internal fear. In one poem, a solution can be found, in another there is no solution. Some poets chose to make fear wear clothes by imagery, personification and symbolism, some of them chose to leave it as abstract. Poets reflected the fact that the fear is personal, that can be changed from one person to another, in their poems.
The poems I looked at, some of them was telling a story in the center of fear, in the other hand, some of them was talking about the theory of it. In both ways, they were trying to find the right words to describe what that fear is really made out from. Rather than using an unrhythmic structure, most fear poems has rhythmic structure. I think that is because poets want to keep the tension constant throughout the poem. Even though we hold fear from its different arms and legs, poems claims that the effect of fear on poet’s personality and life is inescapable.
I think that fear is revealed in poems by adding a part of soul in every word. As the souls, fears in the poems turned out to be unique.
